Before: This house had three roof slopes that didn’t quite meet as a valley should. The left gable roof didn’t meet the right gable roof. Instead, the builder had left a very short “sidewall” with an overhang that trapped snow and leaves, leading to ice damming and water infiltration leaking.

Step 1: Our crew removed the hail damaged shingles and underlayment to expose the main structure.

Step 2: We extended the decking on the left side to meet the roof slope on the right and eliminate the sidewall and the
overhang.

Step 3: Attention to detail makes the difference. We installed matching fascia trim from the gable peak to the new valley bottom for a finished look.

Step 4: The valley liner is in place and the GAF underlayment is ready for shingles.

Step 5: The rebuilt valley with modified roofing to code and overlaying shingles to eliminate the problem area and allow
proper drainage.

Step 6: The valley is now protected from ice damming, snow building up and water
infiltration.
