Your new vinyl windows have probably been closed up for several months. Now is the time to open them up and enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather.
Each Spring we recommend a quick cleaning to keep your windows operating smoothly.
1. Vacuum out the dirt & debris from the bottom track then wipe clean with a gentle cleaning solution and warm water.
2. Tilt the hung windows in to clean the outside. First raise the bottom sash about 6 inches, then press in on the tilt latches at the top. Make sure to support the window and gently lower it down. Keep the window level and even while doing this.
3. Follow these same steps to lower the top sash and clean it first.
4. Wipe down the screen from the inside while the window sashes are tilted in. This will eliminate some of the dirt on your windows the next time it rains.
5. After the top sash is clean, gently raise it back up; again make sure to keep the sash level on both sides. This prevents the side pins from coming out of the balance system. The tilt latches on either side should “catch” and lock back into place.
6. Clean the bottom sash and again gently return it to its original position.
7. Double check that the top sash is fully raised up into the pocket so that the locks align before closing and locking the windows.
