If you go to a construction site in the United States today, you are likely to find Pella doors or windows. They are among the most popular doors on the market and are often found in new construction or in homes that are undergoing an update. You can find Pella products across the nation, including in hardware stores.
Pella began in Iowa, in a small Dutch town called ‘Pella’, back in 1925. The product line that established their company has nothing to do with doors; Pella first came to success by making a window screen that could roll up and down much like a window shade. A few years later, after the success that they were experiencing with their window screen, they would move into making Venetian blinds as well. It wasn’t until three years later, and 12 years after they first began operation, that Pella would make their first window; a deluxe casement window with a steel frame, a wood interior, divided windowpanes, exterior wash feature and a removable insulating glass panel. It would be 1960 before Pella would produce their first door; wood sliding glass doors that would spread in popularity. In the next few decades, they would slowly expand their offerings in the door market, to the point where they are offering doors for almost any design needs that you may have.
